First, we'd like to say that what we want most is for you to share our wedding day with us without feeling obligated to give us a gift. We've lived together for 13 years and aren't a bride and groom just starting out who needs to furnish a home. We already have lots of stuff.

At the same time, we don't want to deprive anyone of the joy of giving. And, hey, let's be honest: it's always fun to receive gifts too! We wanted to register at Home Depot, but their website is very limited and doesn't have a lot of what we need. Since we bought a house a little over a year ago, a Home Depot gift card will not go unused.

To get an idea of what we may use the gift card on, here's a list of projects we have in mind:

• Replace the rotting steps from the back yard to the garage.
• Build a backyard deck.
• Build a low fence in the front yard.
• Replace the falling retaining wall on the side of our property and build additional retaining wall in the back yard.
• Install a ventilation fan and repaint in the bathroom.
• Install a new garage door opener.
• Replace the cabinet hardware in the kitchen.

Of course, the list grows daily. Ah, the joys of home ownership!
